The Teacher's Course of the Ecole de Légèreté is an arduous 3 year process. Over ten 4 day clinics, the US course instructor, Bertrand Ravoux, teaches the vast foundation of the program including lunge work, in-hand flexions, ridden work through all the lateral maneuvers in the walk and trot, pedagogy (teaching a student while supervised and corrected by Mr Ravoux), and theory lectures. At the 6th clinic, course riders can present their lunge and in-hand work examinations toward their license. At the 10th clinic, course riders can present their own horse, (riding all the maneuvers of the foundation program correctly and with excellence), teach a student (evaluating horse and rider, correctly diagnosing what to work on and presenting a program going forward), and giving a theory lecture (with an hour to prepare.)
